A taste of geometry
Turn snack time into shape learning fun for your toddler by preparing tasty geometric tidbit snacks. Dice cheese or apples into cubes, decorate her peanut butter sandwich with honey spirals, or arrange raisins or sliced grapes into shapes on a plate. Use cookie cutters to cut pancakes or sandwiches into triangles or squares, or make cupcakes decorated with piped icing shapes. Talk about these shapes with your toddler. Toddler learning toys, such as shape sorters and shape puzzles, are great for reinforcing shape names, and will also help develop hand-eye coordination and motor skills.
