Animals everywhere
If a visit to your local zoo isn’t convenient, try other community resources that will provide your toddler with up-close animal experiences. Take a stroll through your grocery store’s fresh seafood department and look at lobster tanks, shrimp, oysters and fish with your toddler. Visit pet shops to observe fish, mammals, reptiles, birds and amphibians in action. Read animal books with your toddler, and look at pictures of animals in magazines. Play with animal learning toys or an animal puzzle, so your toddler can learn about animals through play.
