Floor time
Providing opportunities for unrestricted movement is vital for infant physical development. Babies who are encouraged to spend time on a clean, flat surface develop body awareness more readily than infants who are constricted in swings, bouncy seats and carriers. Scatter your baby's infant learning toys on the floor and encourage her to reach, scoot and stretch so she can strengthen and develop the muscles she needs to conquer her next developmental challenge. While enjoying her floor time, make sure she gets tummy time as well; this will help her master skills like pushing up, rolling over, crawling and pulling to a standing position.
