Stick puppets

Your preschooler is probably getting pretty good at pretending. Print these puppets on heavy paper or cardstock and have your child use his or her imagination to narrate a story. Developing narrative skills now will help your child become a creative writer later. Exploring story structure also helps build reading comprehension skills. If your child has trouble getting started, take one of the characters yourself and narrate. Have fun!
