It seems like just yesterday we were melting over Theo and Beau, the darling toddler-and-puppy pair whose daily nap photos made the Internet go Awwww last November. They grow up so fast.

So we were easily captivated by these cuddle-time images of Kyle and Scout, posted recently by mom Amanda Johnson on Instagram.

Amanda wasn’t convinced of Scout’s charms at first—she worried that 19-month-old Kyle was too old for the plush puppy. But it soon became clear Kyle had a new BFF: "It's his first ever favorite toy," says Amanda.

Amanda says Kyle especially loves that Scout talks and sings and says Kyle's name. "One of Kyle's favorite things to do is to dance with Scout. He'll push the button to make Scout sing and then he spins around in circles while hugging him."

Amanda says "best buddy" Scout comforts Kyle to sleep every night.

“Kyle always starts to fuss when we put him in his crib, but the moment Scout joins him he stops fussing, lays down, cuddles him and falls asleep,” says Amanda.
