Baby's got books

Surround your baby with board books as she sits on the floor.

Even before your baby can pick up books and turn the pages to browse, she will enjoy being surrounded by colorful, familiar board books. As she gets older she will pick them up and flip through the pages. Don’t be alarmed if your baby “reads” books upside down. She’ll soon care if pictures are right side up.

This activity helps your child become familiar with books from a very young age. While you're reading stories to him everyday, pointing to the words and pictures, and filling her ears with language, it's also helpful for babies to be able to hold and "play" with books themselves.
