Write now
Skills
Your preschooler is ready to write. (Yes, really!)
You'll Need
- Large sheet of paper
- Colored markers or crayons
Time
10 minutesHelp your child learn to print the first letter of his or her first name. Use a marker or crayon and slowly print the capital letter on a large sheet of paper as your child watches. Have your child put his or her hand on yours to feel how your hand moves as you write the letter. Do this several times, and then invite your child to trace the letter that you printed. When he or she is ready, he can try printing the letter without help. Let him or her have fun decorating the letter with different colors, glitter and or other art materials. Repeat with other letters.
