10 minutes

Making the connection between spoken words and written words can be a challenge for beginning readers. Make this learning process fun for your child by writing down or printing out the words to one of your child’s favorite songs. As the song is playing, point to each word. When the song is not playing, work with your child on sounding out the words, showing how each letter has its own sound.
