As a non-artist, I have to say THANK YOU to LeapFrog for the Disney•Pixar Imagination Activation Acrtivity Book for LeapReader. My kids might have to fight me for this one! I absolutely love learning to draw—it's a skill I struggle with, even as an adult. This book walks kids through the drawing process in an easy-to-follow, step-by-step approach.

The pages can stay in the book or be torn out as kids finish drawing with the LeapReader pen. Once we started tearing out pages out of our book, we wanted somewhere to store our stack of drawings. With just a few recycled materials and scrap paper, your budding artist can create a Monster File to store a scary amount of artwork!

Make a Monster File

Start with an empty cereal box.
Cut off the top flaps of the cereal box.
Use a ruler to draw a line from the top corner a point on the opposite side of the box. Choose an angle that that suits your taste. Draw a line on the opposite side of the box. To help draw the lines at the same angle on both sides, measure the distance from the bottom of the box to the point the line was started.
Cut along your line to create a file box.
Paint the box any color, or cover the box with colored contact paper.
Use colored scraps of paper to create monster faces.

The Disney•Pixar Imagination Activation Activity Book includes Mike Wazowski, which inspired one of our Monster File boxes. The other Monster File was our own creation. However you decide to decorate your Monster File, the finished product will provide an art box to store a monster amount of art! Encourage your child to draw on a regular basis and save artwork to show growth over time. You’ll be amazed at the progress your child makes in just a short amount of time.
