Stranger anxiety?
Your baby was happy to be passed from Grandma to your sister to the new sitter without much fuss. But, then, all of a sudden, she clings to you like there’s no tomorrow. What’s up? At about six months, babies are becoming more aware of their surroundings and their memory capabilities are expanding. When your baby protests, this is a sign that she remembers familiar people, has preferences, and can express her opinion! All good things! In fact, you may have already noticed that baby shows a preference for certain toys over others. Encourage her attempts at self-expression by letting her choose her playthings, and respect when she lets you know that she’s ready to move on to the next toy.
