Moms are busy. None of us have enough time, and none of us get to as many museums, botanical gardens, historical sites, or national parks and forests as we would like with our children. Still, from time to time it's a good idea to reexamine our priorities. Remember that you are your child's first role model. You are also his first and most important teacher. Even when you cannot take time to get to that zoo, or spend Sunday afternoon at the museum, you can still make sure that you spend time together, and that you both talk and listen to one another as much as possible. 
To raise a bright and imaginative child requires talking and listening. By treating your child as someone with whom you love to talk, you build her sense of self-worth. And by listening to her, you develop her verbal skills.
