Pre-writing for preschoolers
Give your child lots of opportunities to color, draw and scribble. These activities help coordinate the muscles of the hand to hold a pencil, which is essential for learning to write. Offer guidance and help her write actual letters and words using preschool printables and encourage her to pretend write and scribble. Keep a well-stocked supply of fun writing materials, such as chalk, dry-erase boards, markers, crayons, and pencils. Helping your preschooler learn to write her name will bring meaning to letters, and it will help with getting ready for kindergarten.
