Ever hear of a "Hanukkah Hen"? Probably not, unless you and your child read the April 2000 issue of Cricket Magazine. The story of the Hanukkah Hen was written by twelve-year-old Joanna Grubman of Northfield, Massachusetts. It's a marvelous story and a wonderful illustration of how a child can use her imagination to transform the world. Why not ask your own child to come up with his own "Hanukkah Hen," his own invention and story? Perhaps something inspired by the holidays: an activity, a family event or even a present that never arrived.
