Puppy playtime

Have fun exploring directional words in this doggone adorable printable.

Learning Stages

Navigating involves knowing where you are going and what you want. Learning how to describe these movements is an important step in language development and autonomy. While “I want to go over there” works pretty well for most explorations, more specific directional words like under, over, behind, next to, and so on can be very useful. This printable activity provides an opportunity to have fun with directional words. You can use a finger or a Scout finger puppet to model how Scout finds his doggie dish. Then your child can listen to you say the directions again, one by one, and do it himself!
