Mac OS X 10.13 and above: “System Extension Blocked” Message During Installation
Due to the increased security restrictions in recent versions of Mac OS X, anyone installing LeapFrog Connect on these versions of OS X will have to perform an extra step to properly install and use the software. This step involves enabling the LeapFrog Connect system extension in the Mac OS security & privacy panel.
If you see this message at the end of installation, then you will need to go through the steps below before the device can be properly recognized by the machine:
Step 1
Open the Apple Menu and click System Preferences.
Step 2
Click Security & Privacy.
Step 3
Click the "General" tab. You should see the "Allow" button shown in the screenshot. If you do not, please restart your computer and return to the "General" tab.
Step 4
Click on the padlock symbol in the lower-left, then enter your Mac OS X username and password.
Step 5
Click Allow and select all LeapFrog checkboxes.
Step 6
Complete the installation of LeapFrog Connect.
Troubleshooting
- These steps must be performed within 30 minutes of running the LeapFrog Connect installer. If you are unable to see the "Allow" button, then restart your computer and try again.
- If these steps did not work, please make sure the device is disconnected from your computer, and try uninstalling, and then reinstalling, LeapFrog Connect.
