Why read to your baby every day?
It can be difficult to see the benefits of reading aloud when your baby seems more interested in chewing books than reading them. But reading aloud for short stints will expose baby to new vocabulary and help him learn language skills. As your child grows, he will enjoy showing you how he can name objects pictured in books, as well as turn the pages to see what's coming next. Let your baby touch, play with and turn the pages of the book. Remember, you're not teaching your baby to read just yet; you're teaching him to enjoy books.
