Spot straws of different sizes for a fun lesson in lengths.
Cut twenty-five straws into four lengths: tiny, short, medium and long. Draw four lines on a piece of paper to match each of the four straw lengths. Pile up the straws and ask your child to identify each one as tiny, short, medium and long as she picks them up. She can check her answer against the piece of paper. If she is right, she keeps the straw. How long before she collects all twenty-five?
