Learning Stages

Have your child make his own wrapping paper using brown paper grocery bags. Cut off the bottom of the bag and wrap around the gift, with the writing facing the inside. Give your child chalk, markers and stickers to decorate the package. Spray on a coat of hair spray to keep the chalk from smudging.

Ask your child if he thinks it's "green" to wrap gifts this way. Why or why not? Ask him what other ways he thinks your family could save resources by reusing materials.
