Setting Up Your LeapMove
Need more help with positioning the camera and setting up your room?
Room Preparation
Make sure there is enough room to play! Clear the area of furniture, so the player can stand 6 feet or 1.8 meters back from the TV and have 5 feet or 1.5 meters on either side of themselves free to move side to side.
LeapMove Placement
LeapMove can be placed directly under the TV or mounted on top using the built-in clip.
LeapMove works best when it's placed 2 to 6 feet or 0.6 to 1.8 meters off the ground, centered on the play area.
For a child between 36" and 44" tall, a good LeapMove height is between 2 to 3.7 feet or 0.6 to 1.1 meters from the floor.
Camera Angle
Make sure the lens cover is open so the camera can see the player.
The camera angle should be adjusted so the circle appears 6 feet or 1.8 meters from the TV and the player’s full body appears on-screen. The correct camera angle and placement of the circle helps provide the optimum play experience.
If a child is over 44", try adjusting the camera angle so the circle is 7 to 7.5 feet or 2.1 to 2.3 meters from the TV, or place LeapMove higher, up to 6 feet or 1.8 meters from the floor.
It's important that the circle is between 6 to 8 feet or 1.8 to 2.4 meters from the TV in order for LeapMove motion tracking to work optimally.
Adding a visual marker to the play area, like painter's tape on the ground, can help the player stay in bounds.
