English Learners Family Involvement Program
According to the National Research Council, parent involvement boosts English learners' success as students receive support for their efforts and parents enhance their own English skills. This turnkey program provides parent training and take-home activities that extend learning into the home to provide much-needed practice time. These high engagement materials provide extensive vocabulary development, exposure to oral language, and the extra practice students need to accelerate proficiency.
Using a 'train-the-trainer' model, the program offers training tools and materials for trainers to host several workshop series for students and their parents. Included are easy-to-use parent training materials, take-home activities for participating families, the interactive LeapPad® learning tools, and selections from the award-winning interactive book series, Language First!™ and the English Picture Dictionary for Spanish Speakers.
