Activity: Hands-On Letter Learning
- Materials:
- Play dough
- Time:
- 30 minutes
- Skills:
- The alphabet
Have fun making familiar letters out of play dough with your child. Then help her to make some of the letters in her name. For a child who is pretty familiar with her letters you can play this fun game: Make a few letters together. Have her close her eyes and direct her hand to one of the letters. Ask her to try to guess which letter it is by feeling the play dough. This kind of letter familiarity will help your child internalise the shape of each letter and become better at recognising letters and then writing them.
