Which Takes Longer?

Comparing events by duration is an important early step on the path to understanding and telling time.

To extend the learning: 

  • Ask your child to compare these activities to other things (brushing your teeth, watching a movie, walking to school).
  • Try to name other activities that take about the same amount of time as the activities on the page.
  • Estimate how long each activity takes.
