Taking Turns Song

Parents and educators know that sharing is one of the hardest lessons for toddlers and preschoolers to learn. But the more practice children have with sharing, the more willing they will be to share. They learn to understand that with turn-taking, objects that are shared can come back to them.

You can help your child practice sharing and turn-taking with the fun Touch Magic Rockin' Guitar song, Taking Turns. While you and your child sing, "We go back and forth and back and forth," pass a beloved object back and forth. This type of practice reinforces the concept of turn-taking so the next time you remind your child to share, your child will recall a positive association with the action.
