Learning Tip: Somewhere over the rainbow

Encourage your child to stretch his oral and written vocabulary in addition to his acquaintance with colors. Get out the box of crayons. Pull out a crayon. Take turns rhyming a word and a color, using the crayon that you pull from the box as your cue. For example, a red crayon might elicit red bed and a yellow one may inspire a yellow fellow. The rhymes can be as silly as you like, and it’s also fun if your child illustrates each of the rhymes.
