Letter recognition and familiarity with letter sounds are important skills that will help your child get ready for kindergarten. Play letter games and complete letter preschool printables with your child at home to practice letter recognition, and create “Letter Boxes” to help with letter sound skills. To make a letter box, draw a letter on the outside of a box and ask your child to help gather items with the same beginning sound. Make a list of the box’s contents, and draw pictures of each item. Spend a few days on each letter, and then use the lists and pictures to create an alphabet book.
