A word family is a group of words that rhyme and have the same spelling pattern. For instance skill, chill and fill are all in the _ill word family. Children who understand word families have an easier time learning to spell and decode (sound out) words. In this activity your child gets practice with making words by putting beginning sounds with word endings.
