Learning Tip: Playtime Problem Solving

In the first years of life babies love to handle, explore and experiment with objects. Observe them as they play “Peek-a-Boo" or “All Gone.” In this kind of play, your child is testing his own observations about physical objects and their relationship to other objects. Hide something under a blanket and see how he responds. Where did it go? Is it there or not? What clues does your child rely on? Can you suggest a clue? (Look at the shape.) By playing these games with your baby, he will develop curiosity and the power to discover solutions.
